Trip to San Diego

Last weekend we went to San Diego to support Derek's sister Corinne and her two girls Caylee and Coral. This is the reason we went: To welcome home Kyle from his 6 month deployment on the USS Abraham Lincoln (aircraft carrier). It was a short trip, but totally worth it. See the ship come in at Coronado was soooo cool. Here's the ship. It is three football fields long.
Here's Kyle "manning the rails" as they call it. He's in this picture, but I can't remember which one. Derek's Dad Lyle caught up with the ship in Hawaii and is also in this picture somewhere.
The whole process took about 4 hours, but we didn't mind waiting. Raegan even enjoyed herself, but was very tired by the time we left.

After we picked up Kyle we made a little stop on Coronado to eat and so Aunt Ali could touch the ocean.
Before we left were also able to celebrate Grandma Lori's birthday. Here she is with all her grandkids!

We had lots of fun with everyone. It was quite the experience watching that huge boat pull into port. I'm so glad we went. My favorite pix is of the one with my little granddaughters. Love them. Thank you, kids, for the yummy birthday dinner and the b-day cake as well. I loved being surrounded by all my family. XOXO, Lori
